Saturday Event Details

We are back in person at Central LA Public Library for Financial Planning Day 2024!  Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes with each participant.

We'll kick off Financial Planning Day with an all-hands in-person meeting for volunteers to go over logistics for our Pro Bono event before the event begins. Please plan to be at Central Public Library on time to attend the required volunteer meeting. 

Date: Saturday, October 19th, 2024 

Start: 9:40 am PST - required all hands volunteer meeting kick-off  (Mark Taper Auditorium) 

One-on-one Consultations: 30 minutes each, in person.

Your Pro Bono clients register in advance and will have signed FPA Los Angele's agreement forms for their one-on-one session with you. Pro bono clients will be directed to you by LA Public Library Staff. Please keep to the 30-minute timeframe so that we can accommodate as many pro bono clients as possible during the event. We will have free financial resources available for them at the event. 

We will also be conducting 4 live workshops during the event, and are looking for volunteers willing to speak at a live workshop to the public. Workshops will be conducted in the event's Taper Auditorium and all presentation materials will be provided in advance.  

Volunteers conducting one-on-one meetings with participants are required to be CFP® professionals in good standing. If you are pursuing your CFP® marks, we will have volunteers you can sit with to observe and still receive hours towards your CFP® experience requirement. There are opportunities to volunteer for non-CFP® members as well. All non-CFP® volunteers may be asked to assist with escorting participants to their meetings for one hour during the event, as needed.

Lunch: Lunch and refreshments will be provided to all FPA Los Angeles volunteers.
